To Influence or not to influence
We all know social media has the
ability to award each one of us our 15 minutes of fame, but not many of us know
how to claim it. Most of us are members of Generation Z, which means
most of us used platforms like Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Vine. Some
generation Z members use these platforms to rocket themselves to success. And
that’s how they become social media influencers.

So you probably wondering if you could be an influencer,
right? Well let me be the first to tell you that it is fairly easy to become an
influencer. It will be easy if you know what you doing, because if you don’t,
let’s just say you’ll be losing followers faster than you can say “I’m king of
social media”.
Being an influencer on social media in this modernized world
of ours can be a pretty big thing. People look up to you and what I mean by
that is, you can change the way people see certain things, they value your
opinion more. And if you really good at being an influencer, most companies
could even hook you up with some awesome free goodies. Because they know the
kind of impact you have on your followers.
The nitty gritty of
being an influencer
People need to realize that having many followers on any
social media platforms, let’s say twitter for example, it doesn't mean that you
have power to drive to action; it gives you the power to drive awareness on any
topic or product you are talking about.
To be a true social media influencer
you should have a passion for both the topics you talking about and social
media itself. True influence requires two major things: audience and advocacy.
The Big Five
The following names listed in this post is, in my opinion
the best or the top five people to follow on social media, because
they are without a doubt very
inflectional.

- Acacia Brinley: An 16 year old. With 2 million Instagram followers, 563,000 Twitter followers, and 460,000 YouTube subscribers.
- Nash Grier: A Vine sensation who has 9.5 million Vine followers, 6.7 million Instagram followers, 3.6 million YouTube subscribers, and 3.5 million Twitter followers.
- The Jenner sisters: coming in at 3&4. Although they gained fame, thanks to their hit reality show “Keeping up with the Kardashians”. These sisters keep their own on social media. Kendall’s 13.8 million Instagram followers gets treated to backstage shots of her supermodel life and Kylie allows her 12.4 million Instagram followers to follow her on daily errands and out on the town.
- Bethany Mota: An 18 year old YouTube star and fashion icon with her own clothing line. She has 7.3 million YouTube subscribers, 3.9 million Instagram followers, and 2 million Twitter followers.

All these numbers put together is a whole lot. These people
have real power in their hands and people really value their opinions. Follow
them and see what all the hype is about.
I must say I don't like the top five that much because i don't feel like they giving the right impression of how the world should view teens well except Bethany Mota but then i guess that's why she is at the bottom, because she doesn't follow the norms of society.
ReplyDeleteI respect your opinion. But you for getting that almost every teenager out there is like the five people mentioned in this post. Each one of them can relate to someone out there that's why they so influential.
DeleteIt's all well and good to be an influencer over social media but what we don't see is how social media has the potential to both make or break a person.. one wrong move on social media and your reputation could be destroyed.
ReplyDeleteThere is always two sides to a "story". Like you said, social media can make and break us. But this post is more on how it makes us, the positive side of social media. And I believe that whatever you put out there (on social media) is all on you. You are in control of what you post. So if you post something that is damaging to your reputation, then it means you damaging your own reputation. Not socail media
DeleteBeing an influencer is not easy. They always have to keep in my mind that their target market or audience are human being with different feelings. They must ensure to say things that won't affect anyone negatively.
ReplyDeleteYeah they have to keep in mind that their followers are humans that have feelings. These people themselves have feeling, and that's why they are able to relate to their followers.
ReplyDeleteThis can be seen as a good but yet bad thing. Most of these guys are young adults and should be focusing on school not how many followers they have, don`t you think so ?
ReplyDeleteYeah they young, but it shows you that it doesn't mean that you young you can't be an influencer, I see why these people have so many influencers. They young and people relate to them
DeleteAwesome article, doesn't it require a lot of effort being an influencer and at times its who you are connected with that gets others buzzing right?
ReplyDeleteYes that's right. And no it doesn't take a lot most of these people are just themselves, taking videos and uploading it to the internet. It just a matter of if what you saying is going to be noticed by the right people.
DeleteI am certainly impressed with your blog, you are correct about the fact that being a media influencer does not require alot of effort and plus it looks so easy to become a media influencer but you just have to market yourself and in a good manner.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. And I agree that you have to market yourself in a good manner. Because we all know if you don't do that, you won't be an influencer.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it is important to have social media influencers to enhance the popularity of of social media, which has become a phenomenon in modern society.
ReplyDeleteI agree that having social media influencers are important in this day and age, where everyone is living on the internet. that's why we called Generation Z
DeleteI would like to be an influencer one day. But the thing is that I don't think that it's easy to become one because in my opinion you have to be a bit "famous". Don't you think so?
ReplyDeletei think once you make it as an influencer, thats when you famous. you have to start form the bottom right? So i think you have to have an idea of what you want to be posting about.
DeletemmmmmmmDori I completely agree with you when you say that but, being an influence is not easy as it sounds because your mind is always on your target audience and people are not the same with different emotions showing that when you are social media influncer you have to have and open mind and be an example to everyone.
ReplyDeletebut you forgetting that most people, like the ones mentioned in my post, are young and are basically just letting people into their worlds via social media. They just being themselves and people love it when you are yourself. that's what makes it fun
ReplyDeleteThe Jenner sisters played a very big influential roll on teenagers, well should I rather say, they are still playing a roll. The only problem is the fact they dropped out of school to pursue they dreams. This may let their followers think that it is a good thing to do.
ReplyDeleteThe Jenner sisters didn't drop out of school, they were registered to do homeschooling as school started clashing with their schedules. but i do believe that they have a huge impact on teens
ReplyDeleteOh yes the Jenner sisters are really a great influence on teens it is is not a lie. I thought that they are school drop outs. Thank you enlightening such great information to us Dori, almost assumed the worst
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you dear. Well it very important not to jump to conclusions about people. Especially public figures. Most teen stars do home schooling.
DeleteGreat blog Dori! You have made a point by people need to realise that having many followers on any social media platforms does not mean that you have power to drive to action...great facts given
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment :). And you so right people do need to realize it. People need to think about the kind of content they want to publish.
